Apple Cider Vinegar – Food of the Week by Dr. Shaani Marguccio.

Apple Cider Vinegar is one of those popular trends in the health world at the moment.

So what’s all the fuss about?

You might have heard apple cider vinegar has beneficial effects on our digestive health, but did you know that it can also help with relieving arthritis and joint pain?

ACV is rich in minerals, which includes magnesium, phosphorus, calcium, and potassium. Deficiencies in these minerals are contributing factors to arthritic joint pain, as they are crucial elements in maintaining the overall health of the joint structures and soft tissues. Starting the morning with around 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar diluted in a glass of warm water is a great way to start. Or you can even add it to your salads as part of your dressing.

In ACV, “the mother” is a culture of beneficial acids that have many health benefits. It would be the equivalent to the scoby used to make Kombucha, which we are also very big fans of! Unrefined vinegar has a murky appearance and typically still contains the mother culture. Clear and pasteurized vinegars typically do not contain the mother culture and don’t carry the same benefits. I would recommend purchasing organic and unrefined ACV to receive the most benefits from this amazing food!

Yours in health,
