Knee Rehabilitation

Below is a video of Lacrosse superstar Hayley Sofarnos in the initial stages of knee rehabilitation after her recent anterior cruciate ligament surgery.

As Gary Gray would say “the knee is stuck in the middle with no place to go and nowhere to hide” and unfortunately often takes the hit when it’s friends the foot and hip aren’t playing their part.

The exercise is low-level gait retraining, her hand is on the wall to provide stability. The focus in the first 4-6 weeks of her program is to restore activities of daily living such as gait, sit to stand and stairs. These are performed alongside mobility exercises to ensure restoration of knee motion.

Hayley is a superstar and even before her first visit post operation, she managed to put herself through a session of battle ropes. Great dedication.
