The Silly Blue Board (biomechanics)
The BAPs, Biomechanical Ankle Platform System or silly blue board as it is affectionately known by its creator Gary Gray is a staple tweak used on patients at Everything’s Connected. While commonly mistaken for a wobble board the BAPs is so much more. The edges of the board are designed to encourage motion at the ankle joint making it the ideal tool for foot and ankle rehabilitation within a chain reaction biomechanical model
One of the cool things about the BAPs is that when standing on it and working the board around it’s edge it not just the ankle you feel but also a tremendous posterior hip load. This device creates an integrated foot to hip load that helps to co ordinate the body segments.
Big shout out to Gary Gray and the Gray Institute for helping make complex biomechanical rehabilitation seem simple.
